It's Still Going On

It’s Still Going On was originally written as a dedication to the memory of my sister, Tammy, who was tragically struck down in Chicago on October 25, 1991. No suspects, no arrests. After researching the surge of violence in Chicago over the last several years the song took a turn.

My heart immediately went out to the families of these victims, detailing how whenever a child dies, a mother cries, and a family is ultimately torn apart. The Red tape on the cover symbolizes another life tragically lost, another mothers tears and another heart breaking. It is also symbolic of the amount of red tape one goes through while trying to better themselves out of this situation.

It’s Still Going on is a continuation to Marvin Gaye’s Classic Song, “What’s Going On.” 43 years later and it’s still going on. Let’s hope the next 43 years bring about a change.
